Faculty and staff are invited to attend the free Media Commons Tailgate on Saturday, October 13 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event will begin in 112 Kern Building, University Park, then move to the Knowledge Commons within Pattee Library.

The Media Commons Tailgate is a highly interactive event focused on exploring the possibilities for digital media in teaching and learning. This year’s theme will be “Rediscovering Our Roots.” Attendees will have an opportunity to creatively explore and dig into the role of new media in the classroom and the many new innovations the Media Commons is supporting this year.

This will be a fast-paced day including a keynote address by Susan Russell, artistic director of Cultural Conversations and assistant professor in the School of Theatre; group breakout and brainstorming discussions featuring faculty presenting on their use of new media in the classroom; and other sessions designed to engage the audience in conversation. Discussion will cover a range of issues from the technical to the pedagogical, and should offer something for attendees regardless of their background.

Lunch and light refreshments throughout the day will be provided for all attendees.
