Weather, or contagion, will at some point impact on our ability to meet traditional semester coverage. While not all classes will be amenable to alternative technology-driven approaches, the majority could utilize Web-based alternative approaches to reach and engage students. This presentation identifies multiple rapid approaches, based on teaching style and faculty comfort levels with technologies, to capture content, present, and engage students with Web delivery.
Imagine the University is closed, during the last week of classes, due to snow. Perhaps there are a few days of closure, or worse, a bad flu season or contagion that impacts the University. What are our options to rapidly continue existing face-to-face classes via online approaches? This discussion addresses three approaches that can be quickly adapted to enable delivery and in some cases interactive engagement with students mediated via computational approaches online. The three approaches recommended are utilization of ANGEL to deliver existing content, podcasting (audio only and enhanced podcasting), and use of Breeze (Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional) and/or Breeze Presenter (Adobe Presenter).
