Jeff - How to integrate a closed system like ANGEL with these open tools we've been talking about today? We start with a video syllabus for a Spanish class created by Maritza Hogue-Davidson. Very funny! Many varieties of hats. The video continues with student reactions to the use of video in the class - comments in both Spanish and English. Student perceived value from being able to see themselves practice the language. Cool stuff - nice to see the students in authentic situations.
Maritza opens by admitting to knowing little about technology. But she wanted a way to record students' progress for documentation purposes - as a way to be more fair in her grading. She now has examples to use in future offerings of the class, where she plans to continue to use video. The examples and the authentic nature of the projects allow students to demonstrate communicating, as opposed to just speaking.
